After long last, words and a list!

Things that I hate that I love:
- Reading other people's blogs: I am a peeper by nature.

- Catalogs: Clothes, fruit, housewares, Skymall, whatever, I love them one and all.

- Gossip Girl: I watched a full episode on Sunday and am hooked. It makes me want to get a fancy phone with lots of extra buttons and fun ring tones.

- Beef jerky: It is an expensive habit. If you can help yourself, don't get started.

- Shoes: I can't explain this one. It is what it is. Shoes. I haz 'em.

- Glasses: People ask me all the time if I've ever tried contacts. How is putting a little lens directly onto your eyeball better than not putting a little lens directly onto your eyeball? Also, glasses can protect your eyes from things like fast moving insects and caustic liquids.

- Reading the personals: It's interesting to read how proud people are of themselves.

- Kitties: They're mean, they scratch and they bite. And they make me snotty. But they're so farking cute, thinking about them makes me type this face out of punctuation: ^_^

It's May!
It's spring now and all is well with the world! The sun is still out when I come home. It's warm enough to sleep with the windows open. The initial pollen shock is wearing down and L is sneezing a lot less. Reggie's hair is in full spring puff and she gets a nightly brushing to keep her looking weird and poufy.

I appreciate that going through almost 2 decades of schooling indoctrinates most of us to feel like we deserve to run on half-tank for a few months. It makes me feel better about eating badly and being a lazy bastard. Summer hours starts next week! Yahoo! This means every other week is a three day weekend! I officially declare this "The Summer of Non-essential Productivity and the Reclaiming of Youth!" Past summers have included: 2005 - "The Summer of Greatness", 2006 - "The Summer of Fun!", and 2007 - "The Summer Slimdown Summer." My newly gained fridays will be spent eliminating the generational differences between myself and "the kids" and shifting into the new millenium. The ninties are dead, man! Viva irony! If I could grow a beard, I would.

In other seasonal news, Sue is a wedded woman now! This here is a photo of the Yi-Lee cousins and the newly acquired Kim:

Apparently, we are a peoples inclined to bangs. Lots and lots of bangs.

Thinking of things to write is hard. So here is a picture of some birds and a verse from the song that inspired it.
"so tweet with me and widely spread your olive wings. embrace my head, fly with me 'til we are dead and one with the birds"

Rat year!

Saturday was spent making a doll. Of myself. No panties!

Wednesday surprise! Rib night at Virgil's. Masticated:
- 3 giant ribs
- 1/4 chicken
- 1 muffalata
- 1 side of baked mac & cheese
- 1 side of "country greens" (collard greens swimming in butter and bacon juice)
- 1 order of "train wreck fries" (french fries covered in: cheese, bacon, green onions, sour cream, gravy, a punch in the face)
